Revealing Jesus – Why Jesus?

Text: I Samuel 3:1-7; Mathew 11:27: Luke 24:25-27

Last week we established that Jesus has always been in the Beginning and God has been seeking to reveal himself to humanity and His sent his son Jesus to dwell amongst Men and then we beheld the glory of the Father in Him.

This week we begin to study the purpose of Jesus- Why Jesus? Understanding Why Jesus, gives us deeper insights into His purpose for us as Born Again Christians who have given Him Lordship over their Lives

What the Father said Jesus
  1. Establish the Authority of Jesus on the earth- Gen 3:15. Jesus is the SEED of the Woman who will bruise the head of the enemy and All those that have covenant with him partake in the same Authority.
  2. His Beloved Son- He is the Beloved of the Father doing what the Father wants-
What the Prophets said about Jesus?
  1. Emmanuel (God with us)- Isaiah 7:14
  2. The Government (Kingdom of God) will be upon Him- Isaiah 9:6 He will carry the mandate and responsibility of the Kingdom of God
  3. The Anointed one – Isaiah 61:1
  4. Salvation and Eternal life: Numbers 21:8 and John 3:14 As many that believe in Him Shall Live (eternal Life)
  5. Fountain of Living water- Jeremiah 2:13
What Jesus Said about Himself
  1. The Mandate- Luke 4:18-20 This Scriptures encompasses all that Jesus came to do. A clear blue print of God’s Purposes for Jesus on the earth.
  2. Preach and Teach the kingdom- Luke 4:43
  3. To Fulfill the law and the Prophets- Luke 5:17
  4. To give Living water- John 4:10-
  5. To give us all things from the Father- Mathew 11:27
  6. To Take our yoke- Mathew 11:28-30
  7. Salvation to Humanity: John 3:14-20
Why Jesus?
  1. Reconciliation for Humanity- Romans 5:11, 2 Corinthians 5:18-19
  2. He takes away the Sin of the World by Sacrifice- John 1:29, 1 Peter 1:19
  3. Salvation of our Souls- 1 Peter 9- 13
  4. To Pay the Price: 1 Corinthians 6:20, Hebrews 9:13-14
  5. The mediator of the Better Covenant- Hebrew 8:6

In Conclusion Jesus came primarily to bring us back to Himself and in Him we come into fulfilment and purpose. Understanding Why Jesus?, gives us the blue print of the purpose of God and if we allowing His Lordship over our Lives we Live.

Prayer: Lord reveal yourself to me, May I begin to walk in your Purposes oh God.
