Text: I Samuel 3:1-7; 1John 4:10, Hebrew 9:11-14
Herein is Love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the Propitiation for our sins
This passage from 1 John 4:10 indicates the price Jesus paid for our lives. From earlier Scriptures we see that God had shown humanity through the life of Abraham how He desired to make an exchange for Humanity. By Sacrificing His beloved Son Jesus on behalf of humanity as Abraham made that same sacrifice with His Son Isaac, but on the verge of making that sacrifice, there was an exchange with the Lamb
And Abraham said, my son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering- Genesis 22:8
Vs 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his Son.
The word Propitiation is to make atonement a sacrifice on our Behalf and that Sacrifice in this context was Jesus and His Blood and atonement for our sins, completely blotting it away. Therefore we can come boldly to his throne of Grace.
What was the Price?
- The Blood of Jesus- Hebrew 9:22
- His Life- Hebrew 9:16, 26
- Once paid- Hebrew 9:12, 26
What Did He Obtain for Us?
- The Remission of Sin- Hebrew 9:22
- Forgiveness of Sins- Colossians 1:14
- Eternal Redemption – Hebrew 9:12, Colossians 1:14
- The New covenant- Hebrew 8:7
- Blotting out the Handwriting of ordinances against us- Colossians 2:14
- Restored place of Authority- Philippians 2:10-11
- Reconciliation – Colossians 1:21

- Made Peace for Us with God- Colossians 1:20
- The Righteousness of God- Philippians 3:9
- We have access to Him- Ephesians 2:11-13,18, Philippians 3:12
Jesus has obtained and paid the ultimate price for us, All we do is Believe in Him and allow Jesus absolute reign over our Lives and we walk in the confidence that He has paid in Full and the exchange done through the Blood shed on the cross
Prayer: Lord reveal yourself to me, May I begin to walk in your Purposes oh God.
