Topic: Delight in the Word

This Study is taking a snap shot at what the profile of a blessed man is. It is remarkable that the first book in Psalms starts with a profile and pattern that God sees in a Blessed life
The Scriptures unravels three situations that occur in the first profile of a blessed life.
The Word Blessed translates the Hebrew word “esher,” which means happiness or contentment. Esher comes from the Hebrew word “ashar”, which in its root means “to be straight” or “to be right.” Blessed is the man speaks of the happiness, the blessedness, the contentment in the life of the man or woman who is right or “straight” with God.
Delight in the Word
We see that after laying the foundation of Holy living and conduct. It starts with indicating that the Blessed life must
- Delight in the law of God:
To delight is to be excited, captivated, having great pleasure in the law of God is the word of God.
Psalm 119:16, Isaiah 58:2, Isaiah 58:14, Romans 7:22
A blessed man must prepare to seek the law of God. You can’t seek what you are not excited about. Ezra 7:10
How delighted are we about the word of God.?
Your delight is weighed by your seeking, Isaiah 5:24
2. Meditate
This is to think deeply, consider carefully, focus ones mind for a period of time
To make contemplations. When we meditate on the word of God, it becomes life to us
A Blessed man is a man of deep meditation; He contemplates on the word of God. He allows the word of God invade every space of his life. He examines its effect on his daily living. God desires us to be Christians who have a culture of meditating on His word, we continually ponder on the scriptures as our lives align to them. The meditated word is the word that lodges in our hearts, it is the word that is applied to 9ur lives, Great personal revival cones from deep personal meditation on the word of God. Psalms 119:11
